Personal Injury
Neuropsychologist

When a case turns on what an injury did to someone's thinking, memory or mood.

Independent neuropsychological evaluations of injured adults for plaintiff counsel, defense counsel, insurers and the courts. Each evaluation documents how the person functioned before the injury, what has changed, what likely caused it, and what treatment can help.

TBI Evaluations

Testing of attention, memory, processing speed, language and executive functioning after a head injury, including concussion.

TBI Evaluation

Personal Injury Evaluations

Pre-injury baseline, causation, prognosis and treatment needs, set out in a written report for counsel and the court.

Methodology

IMEs & Record Review

Independent examinations and review of medical and psychological records, with the same evidence-based method.

What the evaluation answers

Four Questions Every Injury Case Asks

Imaging and medical records show that an injury happened. They rarely show how a person now remembers, concentrates, works or copes. A neuropsychological evaluation measures those things directly and compares them with the person's life before the injury.

1. Who was this person before?

Work history, home life, social engagement, health and development before the event set the baseline that every later finding is measured against.

2. What has changed?

Standardized testing across cognitive, emotional and behavioral functioning shows which abilities are impaired and which are intact.

3. What caused it?

The evaluation weighs the injury against other explanations (prior conditions, pain, mood, medication, life events) to address the nexus between the event and the deficits.

4. What happens next?

Prognosis and evidence-based treatment recommendations: what rehabilitation is likely to help and what future care the person may need.

Where Evaluations Take Place

How it works

From First Call to Written Report

Testing happens in one full day at the Manhattan office. Typically the evaluation and report take two to three weeks, though timelines depend on the case and are set during the consultation.

  1. 1

    Consultation

A short call with counsel or the injured person to confirm that a neuropsychological evaluation fits the questions in the case.

  2. 2

    Baseline & Records

Review of pre-injury functioning and the medical record: work, home, social life, health history and development.

  3. 3

    All-Day Testing

Standardized batteries covering cognition, memory, attention, executive functioning, language, fine motor skills and emotional functioning.

  4. 4

    Report & Feedback

A written report for counsel, the court and rehabilitation providers, with a feedback session in person or by video.
